Become a Parish Councillor

Have you ever:

  • Had ideas about how your local services could be improved?
  • Wanted to see if your ideas could make a difference?
  • Felt you could be a voice for your community?

So, why not become a Parish Councillor
With local elections due on the 7th May 2015 - YOU could be one?

As a Councillor you can become a real voice for your community and help affect real change. Councillors are community leaders and represent the aspirations of the public that they serve. Parish councils are the most local part of our democratic system and are closest to the public. It is a voluntary position but a rewarding one so why don’t you stand for your local parish or town council and see what difference you can make?

If you are interested you can get a detailed guide (including a nomination pack) to being a Councillor from:
Democratic Services, South Somerset District Council
The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT.
