The Environment Agency and Somerset County Council and partner agencies are working with Residents in areas at risk from flooding to develop community flood plans. Flood plan groups are being formed consisting of members of the community and the Parish Council, where applicable.
Involving local people ensures we include local knowledge and that is vital. Groups meet at a time that suits and plan together to make the community more resilient. A resilient community understands its needs and plans ahead.
A flood plan helps you become more aware of what to do in the event of a flood, how to become more resilient and self-reliant and knowing when to take action and what to do as a community.
This is an opportunity for you to be involved and be part of the plan for Aller.
More volunteers are needed from Aller and Aller Drove
Next Meeting at The Old Pound Inn, Wed 4th Feb. 7pm
